★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fontana pubblica di epoca romana rinvenuta nel corso di lavori di scavo negli anni ’80 del secolo scorso. Si tratta di una struttura di forma rettangolare formata da lastre di pietra fissate da grappe metalliche, risalente alla prima età imperiale (I-II secolo d.C.) in origine alimentata dall’acqua portata in città per mezzo del grande acquedotto, convogliata in una tubatura (fistula) in piombo, ancora conservata per un lungo tratto. La fontana sorgeva lungo una strada nei pressi di un’abitazione (domus), di cui sono visibili i resti di un muro perimetrale, che si trovava nel centro della città romana, a poca distanza dal foro.
Public fountain from the Roman era was discovered during excavations in the 80s of last century. It is a rectangular shaped structure formed from stone slabs fixed by metal clamps, dating back to the early imperial age (I-II century AD) originally supplied with the water flow rate in the city by means of the great aqueduct, channeled through a pipe ( fistula) in the lead, still preserved for a long stretch. The fountain was built along a road near a house (domus), of which the remains of a perimeter wall are visible, which was located in the center of the Roman city, not far from the hole.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Resti di fontana romana, posta sulla scorrevole via Roma. Affacciandosi è possibile vedere i resti di questa suggestiva fontana romana, a pochi passi dal Comune. Purtroppo, non è valorizzata abbastanza, in quanto vi è molta sporcizia e rifiuti. Un vero peccato, perché potrebbe essere uno dei biglietti da visita della città. Consiglio comunque di visitarla.
Remains of a Roman fountain, located on the flowing via Roma. Looking out it is possible to see the remains of this suggestive Roman fountain, a few steps from the Municipality. Unfortunately, it is not valued enough, as there is a lot of dirt and waste. A real shame, because it could be one of the visiting cards of the city. However, I recommend visiting it.
