★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seit ich Fliege trage, kaufe ich diese ausschließlich bei Fabris. Das erwähne ich auch sehr gerne wenn ich auf meine Fliege angesprochen werde. Es klingt einfach so schön versnobt.
Aber in Wirklichkeit gefällt mir dieser kleine, altmodische Laden. Wenn das freundliche Verkaufspersonal den Pappkarton aus dem Regal holt. Darin verschiedene Fliegen. Jede anders und von jeder Sorte nur ein Exemplar. Das hat Tradition und Charme, das ist Kultur.
Nun noch einmal zum Snobismus. Obwohl sich das Geschäft an diesem exklusiven Platz befindet ist es nicht überteuert. Seit mittlerweile acht Jahren kostet mich das perfekte Accessoire zum Opernbesuch 10 Euro.
 Since I've been wearing bow ties, I've only bought them from Fabris. I also like to mention that when I am asked about my bow tie. It just sounds so beautifully snobby.
But actually I like this little old fashioned shop. When the friendly sales staff takes the cardboard box off the shelf. In it different flies. Each different and only one copy of each variety. That has tradition and charm, that is culture.
Now back to snobbery. Although the shop is in this exclusive spot, it is not overpriced. For eight years now, the perfect accessory for going to the opera has cost me 10 euros.

The staff were not at all phased by the Aqua Alta last November!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When in Venice, you must look for your Italian silk scarf here! I wore this during the holidays down here in Fort Lauderdale and received so many compliments. My photos do not do this scarf justice, but you get the idea! This piece, with colors and motif that celebrate Venetian maritime prowess, was the perfect choice for my ocean life here. The shop is located in St. Mark’s Square and features a lovely variety of textiles. This one is pure silk, made in Italy. There are too many imposter scarves in the stalls along the Grand Canal, so beware. If you want quality with friendly service, check out Fabris. C’vediamo presto! Molto grazie!
