Hint, the Rome office is on the top level of a car park. And you need to be a good driver to navigate a very tight 6 or 7 levels. Big hint of you are in a van, park it on the level below the office and then walk up.

I was worried with all the negative reviews. They got to me very quickly, had my car for my reservation just outside and I was out of there in about 5mins. They gave me my insurance options but were not pushy to sell me anything. Great experience!!!

Poor experience. Poor vehicle in poor condition and on top of it all I get bilked for 'damage' that I caused to a car that was definitely made up. Shame on me for not documenting the flaws of the car but have been renting for 10+ years and never had issues previously. C'est la vie. Also very poor customer service on phone and online. Ignored my requests, had to escalate through my credit card.

Had to take a bus from the La Spezia Centrale train station to pick up car. Was told Bus lines S or L from train station but I ended up taking 92 which is about 3 or 4 blocks from Europcar. Got there at about 9.15 on a Monday morning and we were only ones so it was a fast process. We got the basic coverage just to be safe as we weren’t sure if credit card covered in Italy. They drove the car up front to busy street and we were given basic instructions on operating the car while backed up traffic was overtaking us on the one lane road. We jumped in and drive off to our adventure in no time so pick up process was pretty smooth. Only advice is to take the time to walk around the car to check for dings on the car which we did not do as it was busy street and just wanted to drive off. We found a huge dent after we left which we were not responsible for and it was not marked up on the rental agreement. Glad we had the coverage regardless. Car was in good enough condition and we drove most of Tuscany using Google Maps GPS which worked on my T-Mobile free international data plan. We did the early car drop off in Florence airport with no incidents.

Rented a few times from this place, all fine. until a bird crashed into my wing mirror on the Autostrada, No damage just the glass dropped out. Brought it back and told them about and then 2 days later a bill for €434 + €75.00 admin charge. What a joke. If you were reassured by the "Europcar" brand don't be. Go somewhere else and save your money.
