Impressed by the good service this company offer. Possible with pick up for a reasonable fee. Equipment is good. The instructor I had, Luca, is an experienced and very helpfull guide. He know this place better than his own pockets and have tons of patience to help if some parts of the way are difficult to you. This place is breath takeing and take a guided tour like this make you see all whats unreachable for the little crowd of people you pass when entering the water, standing there, in the river, freezeing in shorts, and wished they where in your full cover neopren. Its a good place to wear neopren and guided by this company. Enjoy!

Luca the best guide. We went with Luca to do Canyoning. You go up stream and enjoy the tour back floating. He is very gentle, nice and experienced. We booked directly on site next to the public entry fee of 1,50 Euro. We parked in the curve on the opposite for free. Go with Luca you will enjoy the tour very safely.

The gorge is really beautiful and well worth a visit. We definitely recommend the Body Rafting experience with Etna Truvatura, booked by phoning the number on their website the day before. Easy instructions to meet the energetic and friendly guide Luca, who made the experience thoroughly enjoyable and safe. Luca took lots of photos and some video during the session and sent them over WhatsApp right away. All the gear (helmet, wetsuit, shoes, buoyancy aid) is provided. It’s challenging and a lot of fun!

On a recommendation from our hotel we (that is my wife and I) booked an excursion via Truvatura. We chose the full day “Etna 3,000mt” which additionally took us to a cave (importantly this was not on the tourist trail) and also the beautiful Alcantara Gorge. A key factor in our decision to choose this company was that we were keen to avoid a larger coach trip, hoping that perhaps with a more exclusive and personal approach, we would gain a better understanding of this great mountain. This excursion therefore seemed as though it would tick all the boxes; we were not disappointed. We were picked up at our hotel right on time and introduced to Giacomo, our guide for the day. Not just was Giacomo’s knowledge and respect for the mountain both insightful and widespread, his more general knowledge of volcanology and geology added a huge amount of value to our understanding of the mountain. Moreover, when travelling between the various sites, there was never a dull moment as we talked about all manner of topics that further enriched our understanding of the area and local culture. If my maths is correct, last season Giacomo was on Etna for 115 out of 116 days. In my opinion it would have been very easy for anyone to simply “go through the motions” when guiding customers on similar routes on a daily basis; not so Giacomo. His passion and deep rooted respect for Lady Etna was abundantly clear. There was never a hint of his wanting to shepherd us off the mountain and on to the next destination. He was very generous with his time and knowledge whilst at the same time taking a lot of interest in us and what we thought. Giacomo is a least trilingual (Italian, English and German) and quite frankly I would not be at all surprised if he has a greater knowledge of more languages! This is important as it means his services would be very useful to individuals from many countries. To some, visiting Etna may be just a tick off the bucket list, but Giacomo made sure that a visit to Etna (and not to mention the cave and Alcantara) was so much more than this. Thank you Giacomo, it was our privilege to have spent the day in your company.
