Best you can find in prato. They have a very wide variety of goods. You can find almost everything you need here. But if you are a foreigner and is used to shop in a mega superstore type of supermarket like carefour, don't expect to find TV, fridge, AC, and other household electronics as they are sold in a different store (such as media world and uni euro) here in Tuscany. You will also not find clothes like in carefour, or bicycle, and other goods except for food and beverages, beauty products, some household products, pet food, and some small electronic products, as well as maintenance and gardening products. Basically in Tuscany, there just isn't any store, that has a complete set of variety of items that you may need in your daily life for convenience. They separate them by type and categories one by one and sell in different stores. For example if you need electronic, better go to an electronic store. If you need tshirts, better go to a clothing store, if you need pet supplies, better go to a pet store, if you need stuff for your home, better go to ikea. You get the point. The italians just love to take the longest solution to solve a problem. Forget 24 hours stores. Forget 24 hours food delivery to your doorstep. They don't have the concept of convenient living. In this esselunga, you can apply for a card in which you don't ever need to queue and hoard your stuff onto the cashier to pay. You can do a self pay and self checkout. They will give you a small scanner to scan your goods. It's a great solution to move people out of the supermarket. Buy, pay, go. Love it. The other thing i like about this esselunga is the option to shop online. Although i need to online shop 4-6 days in advance if i want to buy seafood, since apparently they need 2 days to deliver plus 2 days just to wrap and prepare the damn fish and put it in a bag to send to my home, and the same goes for fresh cakes and cookies. They also need that long, 2 days, to grab them from the shelves and put them in a bag. Talk about slow. The Italians are slow, just like those never finished road built, they need years to build anything, they need appointments to be made for every professional services from doctors, dentists, to getting a local haircut, but i never realized that extend also to putting fish and cookies in a bag. Nevertheless, this supermarket is your go to supermarket if you are in prato. May save your life with a bit of convenience.

Its our favourite shopping place. As at 09/04/2022, a lot of thungs has changed in Esselunga, most price are doubled while some has increased so much. But what can we do, we must eat right?
