The best experience buying hats, we end up buying 4 Panizza hats, they know their business, will definitely buy again from them and recommend to anyone!

Very beautiful wools and silks, but very stuffy and unfriendly shopkeeper who clearly thought I would not buy anything and did not want to serve me, and would not show me silks behind the counter. It wasn't busy - only one other customer. I have shopped in fabric shops around the world, and here I did not feel welcome.

Without a doubt, the very best fabric shop in Florence. Fabric selection is endless, and customer service is beyond what you can imagine here in the U. S. Plan on spending some serious time in this shop, the owners are very cordial and engaging. They are so very knowledgable about fabric. I have been to Florence many times and always stop in to see what is new and interesting. You will also meet some very interesting Florentines who come into the shop just to engage in intellectual conversation with Romano Romoli, one of the owners. Truly worth your time if you are in Firenze.?

It was quite an experience inside this shop. I was the only customer while there and was "served" by an elderly man. I asked him for cotton and was waved over to a shelf. The fabrics are folded on soft boards so the wrong side shows. You have to wiggle the fabric to open it up and get a tiny glimpse. I asked to see "this one". He took it off the shelf, threw it on the counter, whipped it open and walked away, without one word to me. I couldn't work out the secret way of doing things; perhaps I was supposed to just get on with it and make a mess of every board of fabric I liked. Maybe that would have got his attention. The handsome young shop assistant came in eating his lunch and greeted me with a cheerful hello, but then he completely ignored me too. Is this the Italian way? In the end I got sick of being treated like I had dog poo on my shoes and left, utterly disgusted. Nobody spoke more than 8 words to me while I was there. The fabrics are absolutely drop dead beautiful, dificult to get in Australia, my purse was bulging with euros, but they didn't want it. So ladies, get dressed up to the nines and see if they pull their fingers out of their belly buttons long enough to notice you're there and maybe show some interest in serving you. Very stuffy and rude owner. Empty shop, didn’t want to help me, told me the prices as if there was no way I could afford anything. It is also overpriced at 55 euro a meter for linen. Not sure why this man runs a shop when he doesn’t seem to want customers.

Beautiful selection of high end fashion fabric (clothing, not home furnishings). Not a store to visit for bargains, but definitely for special pieces. I paid between 98-220 Euros per metre, 98 seems to be his default for most. The proprietor doesn't speak English, but was very helpful for me regardless, and we muddled our way through with Google Translate and a bit of Spanish. He gets a lot of roam-throughs so may not jump to attention unless you're serious, which I was. I'm thrilled with the quality of my purchases and was able to find almost everything on my prep list. I got a lovely wool crepe, and perfect, vibrant linens, cottons and silks. He also has a nice selection of vintage fabrics in one area, but we did see a few moth holes in some, so examine your yardage before cutting (as with any older fabric). I forgot to ask about VAT, but maybe you'll remember.

Bought three very reasonably priced men's scarves here. They are of phenomenal quality and made in Italy. Not tourist junk or fast fashion. Want something to treasure? Come here.
