Il primo nucleo del palazzo, fondato insieme alla cattedrale, risale alla prima metà del XII secolo, grazie alla magnificenza del Normanno Ruggero II e successori.
DescrizioneL’attuale Episcopio è caratterizzato da una possente struttura a scarpa ed è articolato in tre membrature che fino al 1930 si allungavano ad abbracciare la Cattedrale con un dodicesimo balcone. Sulla scarpa, nata per motivi di stabilità e di solidità, si eleva il piano nobile, che alleggerisce il corpo con una elegante balconata e l'armoniosa successione delle aperture inquadrate da cornici. La stratificazione delle varie fasi costruttive risulta evidente osservando la finestra a destra dell’ingresso principale dove tre successioni di inferriate e la sovrapposizione muraria materializzano visivamente l’ispessimento della muratura realizzata in vari tempi.
XII (original nucleus building)
The first nucleus of the building, founded together with the cathedral, dates back to the first half of the 12th century, thanks to the magnificence of the Norman Roger II and successors.
Description The current Episcopio is characterized by a mighty shoe structure and is divided into three members that until 1930 stretched out to embrace the Cathedral with a twelfth balcony. On the shoe, created for reasons of stability and solidity, the noble floor rises, which lightens the body with an elegant balcony and the harmonious succession of openings framed by frames. The stratification of the various construction phases is evident by observing the window to the right of the main entrance where three succession of railings and the overlapping walls visually materialize the thickening of the masonry built at various times.

A small-cost place including guide and detailed personal explanation by a local voluntary association. It transposes art, history and culture from the walls. current episcopal center.
