★ ★ ★ ★ ★ two nights here were excellent - as a military history tour guide Montecassino was always a hotel wasteland but since it opened a few years ago this is at last the best in the area. Particularly the standard of cuisine was wonderful - so much so that we repeated everything the second night! The waiter was also highly amusing and charming. Try the two different types of Montecassino strong beer (see below)
Breakfast was also very good - distancing in this Covid time was achieved by separating guests from the buffet and guests merely point to what they wanted.
