★ ★ ★ ★ ★ piccolo comune sito sulla sponda occidentale del lago di Como. Ottimo per una lunga passeggiata sull'apposito tracciato ciclo pedonale lungo lago. Ristoranti, bar e parcheggio. Nella piazza principale vi è il Museo della II guerra Mondiale.
small town located on the western shore of Lake Como. Excellent for a long walk on the special cycle / pedestrian path along the lake. Restaurants, bars and parking. In the main square there is the World War II Museum.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bel paese, sul lago.pieno di esercizi, bar ristoranti, turistico, unico. Un po' come tutti i paesi prima e dopo. Molto frequentati, specialmente nella bella stagione.
Beautiful town, on the lake, full of shops, bars, restaurants, touristy, unique. A bit like all countries before and after. Very popular, especially in the summer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Per decenni Dongo era noto solo ed esclusivamente per l'arresto di Mussolini, il presunto oro finito nel lago( in realtà spartito tra il CNL ed individui improvvisamente divenuti benestanti) e l'acciaieria Falk che era arrivata ad impiegare duemila maestranze. Ora, sparita la Falk, rimane un interessantissimo museo sugli ultimi giorni della seconda guerra mondiale e la cittadina si è progressivamente vocata al turismo. I campeggi lungo la passeggiata Dongo Gravedona si stanno vivacizzando e sono pronti ad accogliere gli stranieri.
For decades Dongo was known only and exclusively for the arrest of Mussolini, the alleged gold ended up in the lake (in reality shared between the CNL and individuals who suddenly became wealthy) and the Falk steel mill which had come to employ two thousand workers. Now, with the Falk gone, there remains a very interesting museum on the last days of the Second World War and the town has gradually become a tourist destination. The campsites along the Dongo Gravedona promenade are becoming lively and ready to welcome foreigners.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una Località sulla riva del Lago della Provincia di Como. Purtroppo visitata in una Giornata invernale, molto grigia e nuvolosa. La sua Storia è ricca di monumenti e di cenni storici relativi al periodo di fine della Seconda Guerra mondiale. È presente anche un Museo dedicato ai medesimi periodi, che però è aperto solo nelle stagioni Turistiche da Primavera ad Autunno inoltrato. Meritevole di una visita o gita turistica. La località raggiungibile anche tramite il Battello della Navigazione del Lago di Como.
A town on the shore of the Lake in the Province of Como. Unfortunately visited on a very gray and cloudy winter day. Its history is rich in monuments and historical notes relating to the period of the end of the Second World War. There is also a museum dedicated to the same periods, which however is only open in the tourist seasons from spring to late autumn. Worthy of a visit or sightseeing trip. The town can also be reached by the Lake Como Navigation Boat.
