★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoyable atmosphere and great selection. Maybe a few euros more than Coop, but the beauty of the place makes up for that. Fine quality and intuitive placing of items. I recommend stopping in even for just a small item if you are in the area. They have special canvas bags you can buy as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In Venice, supermarkets are also beautiful. The former Theater has been turned into a magical supermarket. This is a symbolic place in the heart of Venice, an architectural gem of the early 1900s. Inaugurated in 1916, the neo-Gothic and Art Nouveau styled building is one of the first examples that used iron and reinforced concrete. Teatro Italia was renovated and today was born for a new life. After a period of neglect, the Teatro Italia was returned to the Venetian citizens and the original call, to represent a real stage of feeling. The restoration has preserved the integrity of the rooms, the decorations, the unmistakable interweaving of styles typical of the beginning of the last century, restoring dignity and splendor to the precious Venetian architectural good. It is one of the rare Theater in Italy that still retains the original structure and interior painted decorations "The Allegory of the Glory of Italy" is in the center of the ceiling. It is located in the bustling part of Cannaregio, in a beautiful square with many bars and patisseries. A real gem for the eyes and the soul.

It actually has normal products in normal prices.
Loved how they turned the theatre's ticket counter into the supermarket's help desk.
As an experience, shopping local cookies, Coca Cola and sausages surrounded by magnificent renaissance art is interesting, beautiful and a bit disheartening.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful inside and out. Not something you’d expect if you know the “Spar” brand from, say, Spain. It’s an old theatre building that was transformed (with a 2.5 million euro investment according to despar.it) into a very nice supermarket. It is properly air conditioned, it has a large selection of Italian brand products. The former theatre ambiance is gone, however, they tastefully restored the decorations. it’s worth popping in if you’re close (if only to be out of the scorching sun and cool down 5 to 10 minutes :) ).
