Personale gentile e disponibile. Da provare l'arancino con nduja:ottimo! The tables of the restaurant are arranged in the square, facing the sea (suggestive panoramic point), where you can glimpse a small piece of the sea. On the menù there are many varieties of drinks with apparently expensive prices (on average 8 €) but for each table they bring a cutting board with various tastings (olives, salami, sandwiches, bruschettas). We also asked for a part of a vegetarian aperitif which they brought us without any problems meeting our requests. Friendly and helpful staff. Try the arancino with nduja: excellent!

Watch out! They tried to cheat us and take the payment via card twice (waiter told us that the payment didn't go through, fortunately we have the mobile app that shows each transaction). The food was cold. To be avoided!

We spent a week in Tropea and Barone was just across the street from our B&B. The location is amazing, the drinks and apertivo are wonderful and the staff are the best part! Everyday as we walked by they’d say hello, and chat with us. They made us feel very welcome and took extra good care of us. We were on our honeymoon and they spoiled us! We live in Canada, and their aren’t many North American tourists in Tropea. We’d join them for apertivo and drinks in the evening, and one afternoon even when their kitchen was closed they whipped us up a beautiful snack! Virginia was so lovely - and if you read a bad review about the “apertivo” a gentle reminder it’s free food they offer you while you drink! It’s a perfect nibble before dinner. Their nduja arrancini is EPIC! Grazie mille!!!!

Most incredible dessert! Some friends and I came here recently for a coffee and the famous Tartufo. It was absolutely incredible. Now, not having had it at any other bar or cafe (where it wasn't packaged, but rather, fresh), I have nothing to really compare it too, but my friend and I were definitely impressed and really happy that we ordered it. I would like another one right about now. The staff was so-so, the location fine, with a slight view of the sea, but in the touristy part of the town. However, if you want to stay close to the center, this is a good place to eat/drink. The tartufo was 5 Euro and the coffee my friend ordere was 1 Euro.

Love the ambience of this place, the incredible aperitivo offerings, plus a staff member who made it even better. All the chairs face outwards, creating a cool people watching factor. Going here before dinner is a must! When you order drinks they bring over aperitivo offerings, which are some of the best in the city. Pretty impressive charcuterie spread... for FREE! We came here again the next night and one of the waiters Alessandro took the time to explain the different Tartufo flavours, even though he was super busy. Again, Alessandro saved the day when I had to use the bathroom, but the lock was broken. He said "no worries I'll stand here for you" and stood outside the door so no one would come in. What a gentleman! Very trendy and cool place, wish I was back there right now.
