Lost Place, cool little abandoned village at the end of the 18th century, which is sometimes used as a film prop. You can look over there but you don't have to.

Cunziria di Vizzini . La Cunziria è un vecchio borgo del settecento a Vizzini, Sicilia. Il luogo è divenuto palcoscenico naturale per rappresentazioni teatrali. Nel luogo sorgevano delle casupole, costruite in pietra locale di colore ferrigno, disposte sulle collinette che per la loro esposizione al sole favorivano l'essiccazione delle pelli che venivano lavorate. La tessitura muraria e le concezioni volumetriche, ma soprattutto il dettaglio architettonico, laddove ancora visibile, è strettamente legato alle tradizioni costruttive di questa parte della Sicilia. Grazie alla sorgente vicina, vi è abbondanza di tannino, estratto dalla pianta di sommacco, prezioso per il procedimento artigianale. La pulitura e il trattamento avveniva all'interno di vasche scavate nella roccia, alcune delle quali poi interrate, ed oggi nuovamente visibili grazie a recenti scavi. Esso rappresenta un esempio di architettura rurale e della cultura agricola dell’epoca. Ad oggi, rimangono i ruderi della chiesetta di Sant’ Egidio, che pare risalire all'epoca romana. L’attività della Conceria comincia il suo declino intorno alla fine degli anni ’20 del novecento fino agli anni ’60, quando la pratica della concia venne definitivamente abbandonata. Il luogo è di grande di suggestione grazie al suo decentramento all'interno di una vallata aperta con lo sfondo degli altipiani ricoperti da manti di fico d’india, abbiamo continuato sulla SP147 …. La Cunziria is an old 18th century village in Vizzini, Sicily. The place has become a natural stage for theatrical performances. The cleaning and treatment took place inside tanks dug into the rock, some of which were then buried, and today again visible thanks to recent excavations. It represents an example of rural architecture and agricultural culture of the time. To this day, the ruins of the church of Sant 'Egidio remain, which seems to date back to Roman times. The activity of the Tannery began its decline around the end of the 1920s until the 1960s, when the practice of tanning was definitively abandoned. The place is very suggestive thanks to its decentralization within an open valley with the background of the plateaus covered with prickly pear blankets, we continued on the SP147….
