★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Het was voor mij twee keer een heel bijzondere ervaring om daar met twee bedevaartreizen te mogen verblijven. Er zijn zoveel herinneringen aan Pater Pio aldaar dat je heel veel tijd hieraan kan besteden. Opvallend zijn ook de vele briefjes waarop intenties in vele talen zijn geschreven.
Alles ademt daar de sfeer van deze Grote Heilige!
In Brunssum, Nederland zijn we heel trots dat wij in onze dekenale kerk, de Sint Gregorius, al jaren een levensgrote beeltenis van Pater Pio achterin de kerk hebben staan, bovenaan de trap van de hoofdingang!
Heilige Pater Pio bidt voor ons!
Als je Pater Pio in de schrijn wil zien liggen, dan moet je een stukje lopen naar de nieuwe kerk van de Heilige Familie aldaar in Pietrelcina, Italië. Zijn lichaam is nog geheel intact, bleek nadat zijn tombe vele jaren later werd geopend! Klik op de website van het klooster voor foto's, uitleg en veel andere informatie.
 It was a very special experience for me to stay there with two pilgrimage trips. There are so many memories of Padre Pio there that you can spend a lot of time on this. The many notes on which intentions are written in many languages are also striking.
Everything there breathes the atmosphere of this Great Saint!
In Brunssum, the Netherlands, we are very proud to have had a life-size effigy of Padre Pio in the back of the church, at the top of the main entrance stairs, in our blanket church, Saint Gregory.
Holy Padre Pio prays for us!
If you want to see Padre Pio in the shrine, you have to walk a little to the new church of the Holy Family there in Pietrelcina, Italy. His body is still completely intact, as appeared after his tomb was opened many years later! Click on the website of the monastery for photos, explanation and much other information.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Indicazioni insufficienti e area parcheggio lontana. A ferragosto la cittadina e le strade limitrofe sono chiuse per i non residenti. Andrebbe rivista la segnaletica locale e la viabilità cittadina per consentire a chi è anziano o disabile di raggiungere i luoghi da visitare.Con il caldo e il sole è massacrante raggiungere il centro. In paese il pavimento prevalentemente in pietre di marmo è sdrucciolevole e si rischia grosso. La chiesa nella piazzetta di Pietralcina è molto grande e bella.
Insufficient indications and remote parking area. In mid-August, the town and the surrounding streets are closed for non-residents. Local signs and city roads should be revised to allow those who are elderly or disabled to reach places to visit.With the heat and the sun it is exhausting to reach the center. In the village the floor mainly in marble stones is slippery and risky. The church in the small square of Pietralcina is very large and beautiful.
