★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Essendo ospiti dell'hotel Portavaldera abbiamo prenotato la cena di sabato 30 ottobre a questo ristorante. Arrivati puntuali alle 20.30 ordiniamo antipasto e seconda portata per 6 persone. In primis ci portano acqua e quella che doveva essere frizzante non lo era per niente... Gentilmente, per spezzare l'attesa, ci è stato offerto un assaggio come pre antipasto. Gli antipasti ci vengono serviti: 3 tartare di chianina con tartufo, un tortino di broccoli e 2 di salumi e formaggi... tutti molto buoni. Poi il vuoto. Iniziamo a chiedere informazioni in merito alla seconda portata dopo un'ora ... ma il personale non si degna di passare per il nostro tavolo... la seconda bottiglia di acqua frizzante ci arriva a temperatura ambiente... praticamente dopo 2 ore abbondanti Iniziamo a mangiare ciò che avevamo ordinato come portata principale. Tengo a precisare che al nostro arrivo al ristorante vi era solo un tavolo impegnato da una coppia che aveva già iniziato a cenare. Poi il locale si è piano piano riempito e tutte le persone sono uscite prima di noi... pertanto presuppongo che la nostra comanda fosse stata persa... al momento del conto, dopo aver fatto presente del disservizio, il personale ha dimostrato indifferenza, arrancando patetiche scuse, senza porgere alcuna scusa. Mi dispiace ma non è il modo di comportarsi. Non è mia abitudine fare questo tipo di recensioni ma sconsiglio questo ristorante.
 As guests of the Portavaldera hotel we booked dinner on Saturday 30 October at this restaurant. Arrived on time at 20.30 we order an appetizer and second course for 6 people. First of all they bring us water and what was supposed to be sparkling was not at all ... Kindly, to break the wait, we were offered a taste as a pre appetizer. The appetizers are served to us: 3 Chianina tartare with truffle, a broccoli pie and 2 cold cuts and cheeses ... all very good. Then the void. We start asking about the second course after an hour ... but the staff doesn't deign to go to our table ... the second bottle of sparkling water reaches us at room temperature ... practically after 2 hours abundant We start eating what we had ordered as a main course. I would like to clarify that upon our arrival at the restaurant there was only one table occupied by a couple who had already started dining. Then the place slowly filled up and all the people left before us ... so I assume that our order had been lost ... at the time of the bill, after having pointed out the disservice, the staff showed indifference, trudging pathetic excuses, without offering any excuses. I'm sorry but that's not the way to behave. It is not my habit to do this type of reviews but I do not recommend this restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Abbiamo cenato durante il pernottamento nell'hotel collegato. Ambiente luminoso e dai grandi spazi. Ho apprezzato la varietà del menù e la sua qualità. Ottimo e variegato il tagliere di specialità locali. Spettacolari i ravioli e la pasta rossa presa come primo. Ho saltato il secondo perché le dosi dei primi erano più che soddisfacenti. Il pane casereccio e la schiacciata hanno fatto la loro parte. Ho ceduto al dolce, una cheese cake a cubetti accompagnata da torta. Notevole e ben consigliata la carta dei vini. Lo consiglio assolutamente come ristorante anche per chi non fosse ospite dell'albergo. Nota sull'albergo: originale, spazioso, pulitissimo ma soprattutto comodo per visitare Pisa e il Volterrano. Anche Firenze é a meno di un'ora.
We had dinner while staying overnight in the connected hotel. Bright and large spaces. I liked the variety of the menu and its quality. The platter of local specialties is excellent and varied. The ravioli and the red pasta taken as a first course are spectacular. I skipped the second one because the doses of the first ones were more than satisfactory. The homemade bread and the schiacciata did their part. I succumbed to dessert, a cubed cheese cake accompanied by cake. The wine list is remarkable and well recommended. I absolutely recommend it as a restaurant even for those who are not a guest of the hotel. Note on the hotel: original, spacious, very clean but above all convenient for visiting Pisa and the Volterrano. Florence is also less than an hour away.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ci sono stato ieri a pranzo, il posto è molto grande e luminoso. Le cameriere sono state molto gentili e disponibili. Oltre a quanto abbiamo ordinato ci hanno portato nell’attesa dell’antipasto vari qualità di pane che abbiamo apprezzato molto. I piatti sono dei piccoli capolavori, sicuramente stra consigliato. In più la cameriera ci ha raccontato come tutto il cibo sia direttamente prodotto da colture e allevamenti del luogo, perfettamente a km 0.
I was there yesterday for lunch, the place is very big and bright. The waitresses were very nice and helpful. In addition to what we ordered, they brought us various types of bread while we were waiting for the appetizer, which we really appreciated. The dishes are small masterpieces, definitely recommended. In addition, the waitress told us how all the food is directly produced from local crops and farms, perfectly at km 0.
