M	MARIO MORETTI ZOOM MASTER on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La nostra breve visita a San Vito dei Normanni, grosso centro nel cuore delle Murge, è iniziata percorrendo la Via Boemondo Normanno, dopo aver parcheggiato l’auto in Via Brindisi (SS16). Abbiamo così raggiunto la Piazza Giovanni Paolo II, sovrastata dalla facciata della Basilica Santa Maria della Vittoria. Visitata la Basilica, ricca di opere pregevoli, abbiamo proseguito lungo Corso Leonardo Leo, cuore del centro storico. Visitata la Chiesa di Santa Maria degli Angeli, siamo arrivati nella ampia e di grande respiro Piazza Leonardo Leo, dove si trova il Comune. Infine, abbiamo percorso Via Regina Margherita fino ai giardini della Villa Comunale. Abbiamo trovato ordine e pulizia ovunque, numerose sono state le occasioni di scatti fotografici, ma con il grande neo del muro, diroccato ed abbandonato alla rovina del tempo, che circonda il Castello Normanno, proprio davanti al Comune. Secondo noi è un fatto, che lascia increduli e genera discredito al Centro Storico ed all’intera bella cittadina. Our short visit to San Vito dei Normanni, a large center in the heart of the Murge, began along the Via Boemondo Normanno, after parking the car in Via Brindisi (SS16). We thus reached Piazza Giovanni Paolo II, dominated by the facade of the Basilica Santa Maria della Vittoria. After visiting the Basilica, full of valuable works, we continued along Corso Leonardo Leo, the heart of the historic center. After visiting the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, we arrived in the large and wide-ranging Piazza Leonardo Leo, where the Municipality is located. Finally, we walked down Via Regina Margherita to the gardens of the Villa Comunale. We found order and cleanliness everywhere, there have been numerous occasions for photographic shots, but with the great mole of the wall, ruined and abandoned to the ruin of time, which surrounds the Norman Castle, right in front of the Municipality. In our opinion, it is a fact that leaves us incredulous and generates discredit in the historic center and the entire beautiful town.

Dove si riesce a trovare la pace dei sensi....ti ritrovi avvolto da un castello con le mura di cinta che affacciano sul Comune, un orologio grande al centro della piazza che fa scorrere i battiti delle ore, lungo le strade principali ti trovi avvolto da belle chiese antiche, tutto intorno sa di odore di ulivi, carni arrosto, impossibile non provare le bombette, la carne di cavallo, carne di tutti i tipi che si trovano nei classici locali . Tipico e' il fornello in questi luoghi....macellerie dove ti fai cucinare la carne che preferisci, per non parlare dei latticini. Importante è l' ossigeno che riesci a respirare dalle campagne vicine, ricchi di alberi bello per fare footing o lunghe camminate, consiglio a tutti di andare a vedere San Vito dei Normanni .... anzi ci sono dei periodi dell' anno , che organizzano belle manifestazioni, da non perdere la pizzica di Agosto..danze, balli e...musica tipica Salentina....bisogna fare una bella vacanza, anche le zone di mare con le sue dune ti affascinano....insomma tocchi con mano il tacco dello stivale!!!! Those who had the opportunity to visit this place found themselves in a healthy, clean, peaceful place. Where you can find peace of mind .... you find yourself wrapped in a castle with the surrounding walls overlooking the town, a large clock in the center of the square that makes the beats of the hours scroll, along the main streets you are wrapped in beautiful old churches, all around it smells of olive trees, roasted meats, impossible not to try bowler hats, horse meat, meat of all kinds found in the local classics. Typical is the stove in these places .... butchers where you can cook your favorite meat, not to mention dairy products. Important is the oxygen that you can breathe from the nearby countryside, full of trees, nice for jogging or long walks, I recommend everyone to go and see San Vito dei Normanni .... indeed there are periods of the year, which organize beautiful events, do not miss the pinch of August..dances, dances and ... typical Salento music .... you must have a nice holiday, even the sea areas with its dunes fascinate you .... in short, touches with hand the heel of the boot !!!!

G	Giuseppe Dinnella on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Paesone checdista una ventina di minuti dalle belle spiagge di Torre Guaceto e poco distante dalla bella Ostuni per la movida serale. Il centro storico non è un granché ma offre qualche ristorantino e nei week end in agosto spettacoli musicali. Ben fornito di supermercati e negozi e ha pure un parco giochi per bambini decente secondo gli standard pugliesi (sempre ahimè molto bassi). A village that lies about twenty minutes from the beautiful beaches of Torre Guaceto and not far from the beautiful Ostuni for the nightlife. The historic center is not that great but offers a few restaurants and musical performances on weekends in August. Well stocked with supermarkets and shops and even has a decent playground for children by Apulian standards (alas very low).
T	Tracey Voss on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ San Vito Dei Normani is a farming community of around 20,000 people. Not the prettiest of towns but has some beautiful buildings once you get to the main piazza. It has a castle in the main square, it can be visited by appointment. Lots of very old churches that stay open all day. Coffee shops on every street just about. Mondays is Market day that has a separate area for plants, this is where I get all mine from. They even carry everything to your car for you.
