Da quel tremendo giorno, San Giuliano ha iniziato una lenta ricostruzione che lo ha portato dopo circa 10 anni, all'attuale sviluppo urbanistico. Oggi il paese è completamente ricostruito, mantenendo in generale l'originale forma, ma con alcune differenze evidenti rispetto all'origine. Il centro storico, invece, ha mantenuto il precedente aspetto, anche se ristrutturato in larga parte. Sono stati installati numerosi specchi solari che forniscono l'energia al paese; i versanti sono stati bonificati con opere di drenaggio delle acque superficiali e profonde al fine di stabilizzare i pendii. Il contesto naturale in cui il paese s'inserisce è prettamente collinare con valenza agricola. Recentemente sono sorte nuove attività ricettive (agriturismo) e rinnovati punti di ristoro. La popolazione è gentile e ospitale. Consiglio a tutti una visita al paese, nei luoghi più significativi sia del passato che del recente periodo. San Giuliano di Puglia remains sadly known for the tragedy that struck it during the 2002 earthquake, in which a part of the school collapsed where 27 children and a teacher were killed. Since that terrible day, San Giuliano has begun a slow reconstruction that has led it, after about 10 years, to the current urban development. Today the town is completely rebuilt, keeping in general the original shape, but with some evident differences with respect to the origin. The historic center, on the other hand, has retained its previous appearance, although largely renovated. Numerous solar mirrors have been installed that supply energy to the country; the slopes have been reclaimed with surface and deep water drainage works in order to stabilize the slopes. The natural context in which the town fits is purely hilly with agricultural value. Recently new accommodation activities (agritourism) and renewed refreshment points have arisen. The population is kind and hospitable. I recommend everyone a visit to the country, in the most significant places both in the past and in the recent period.
