★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Le origini di Paratico sono molto antiche, come testimoniano i resti di insediamenti palafitticoli in riva al lago, risalenti al 2000 a.C. Dopo l'anno Mille, Paratico vide sorgere il castello della famiglia Lantieri, signori del luogo. Esso fu quasi interamente smantellato ai primi del Cinquecento. Oltre all'agricoltura ed alla pesca, ebbero una certa importanza l'attività tessile e quella estrattiva (cave di pietra arenaria).
The origins of Paratico are very ancient, as evidenced by the remains of lake dwelling settlements dating back to 2000 BC. After the year 1000, Paratico saw the castle of the Lantieri family rise, lords of the place. It was almost entirely dismantled in the early sixteenth century. In addition to agriculture and fishing, textile and mining activities (sandstone quarries) played a role.
