Quiet village, full of alleys and paths in the green where you can walk and breathe clean air ... friendly people .. and there is no shortage of small b & b .. an excellent social cellar .. a fantastic pizzeria / restaurant under new management .. the essential for daily life or a super-stocked grocery a nice little bar and a completely renovated Soms that offers fun evenings of music on summer evenings ...

Il nome Montaldo compare dal XIV secolo.
Il 1° febbraio 1863 assunse la denominazione di Montaldo Bormida.
Il patrono San Michele Arcangelo viene festeggiato la prima domenica di settembre.
The first official document that mentions the current municipality dates back to 1164, in it it did not yet have an autonomous name but was associated with Carpeneto.
The name Montaldo appears from the fourteenth century.
On 1 February 1863 it assumed the name of Montaldo Bormida.
The patron saint San Michele Arcangelo is celebrated on the first Sunday of September.
