Guardia Perticara is an Italian town of 542 inhabitants [1] in the province of Potenza, in Basilicata, which is part of the circuit of the most beautiful villages in Italy [2]. Guardia Perticara was also awarded the Orange Flag in 2011, a tourist-environmental quality mark awarded by the Italian Touring Club to small towns in the Italian hinterland [3].

Il borgo ha origini antichissime, testimonianze archeologiche rilevano la presenza di un abitato già dalla prima età del ferro nel IX-VIII secolo a.C.. Un paese con tanto verde, numerosi corsi d’acqua, abitazioni che hanno conservato intatto l’aspetto originario del borgo medioevale con le pietre a vista. Abitato da gente molto ospitale e gentile. Il Municipio è situato in un ex convento molto antico e con una storia molto importante. Borgo molto curato e interessante da visitare.
Guardia Perticara is an Italian town of 542 inhabitants in the province of Potenza, in Basilicata, which is part of the circuit of the most beautiful villages in Italy and, in 2011, it was awarded the Orange Flag by the Italian Touring Club. The village has very ancient origins, archaeological evidence reveals the presence of an inhabited area since the early Iron Age in the IX-VIII century BC. A village with lots of greenery, numerous waterways, houses that have preserved the original appearance of the village intact medieval with exposed stones. Inhabited by very hospitable and kind people. The Town Hall is located in a very old former convent with a very important history. Very nice and interesting village to visit.

In questo borgo, proprio per il suo fascino e la sua conformazione così particolare, furono ambientate alcune scene del film " Cristo si è fermato ad Eboli" del regista Rosi tratto dal romanzo di Carlo Levi.
This small town is one of the "most beautiful villages in Italy". It is characterized by truly enchanting alleys and stone houses that protect each other: it is in fact called "the town of stone houses"
In this village, precisely because of its charm and its particular conformation, some scenes of the film "Christ stopped at Eboli" by director Rosi based on the novel by Carlo Levi were set.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pare di essere in un comune della Toscana. Case in sasso, ristrutturate e molto belle e caratteristiche. Pochissime persone a visitarlo, davvero un piccolo gioiello. Da vedere.
