(ogni sostenitore ha il "suo" bambino, e quel particolare bambino ha solo quel sostenitore). Forniscono aiuto materiale (cibo, aiuto con i compiti) e spirituale (i loro Centri collaborano con le chiese locali). I bambini riescono ad arrivare al diploma e così avranno lavori che aiuteranno loro stessi e la loro comunità locale. Il motto di Compassion? Le lettere dei bambini arrivano puntualmente, ma sono tutte sempre molto simili, a volte viene inviata la stessa lettera, cosa che mi fa un po' riflettere. Sembra tutto molto preimpostato. Sostengo un altro bambino con un'altra associazione e il rapporto tra il bambino e il sostenitore è molto più personale. Le lettere arrivano in originale e non le scansioni colorate come nel caso di Compassion e viene inviata una vera e propria lettera che racconta degli avvenimenti più o meno importanti degli ultimi mesi. Inoltre vengono inviate le fotografie recenti dei bambini e non in una posizione sempre contro qualche muretto, ma mentre giocano o comunque in situazioni spontanee. Non critico il sostegno, ma il modo un po' impersonale delle relazioni tra lo sponsor e il bambino. I support some children with this association. Poi...Ho ricevuto la prima lettera e, non so, qualcosa non andava: il disegno nella busta non sembrava fatto da un bambino. Quando ho ricevuto anche la lettera del secondo bambino ho deciso che non potevo continuare a sostenere una Onlus che non mi ispirava fiducia. Anche il secondo disegno, infatti, non sembrava opera di un bambino. Anche la domanda se avessi figli... Nessun bambino mi ha mai chiesto questa cosa. Ho mollato dopo sei mesi. E' stata la mia prima esperienza e sarà anche l'ultima. Ho ripreso ad aiutare la Caritas parrocchiale. Poi, certo, il fatto che io sia di un'altra confessione religiosa avrà certamente influito sulla mia decisione. Ma resta il fatto che anche secondo mia nipote adolescente quei disegni non erano fatti da bambini. Questa è la mia opinione personale e potrei anche sbagliarmi. Spero di aver speso bene i miei soldi. Spero di avere voluto bene a bambini realmente esistenti. Buona estate a tutti P.S.: anche notare come Compassion si interessi a problematiche uguali a quelle di altre Onlus... Possibile che tutte, ad esempio, debbano avere la sezione dedicata ai bambini albini?
