 Excellent first courses based on fish, there are also dishes for vegetarians with quality ingredients. The tavern overlooks a very pretty square. Prices are affordable.

Cenato a base di pesce, tutto freschissimo e sapientemente preparato e servito. Ottimi anche i dolci. Prezzi nella media e sicuramente proporzionati. Che dire..serata ottima e locale fortemente consigliato. Tornerò sicuramente!
Small but welcoming and well-kept place. The owner, Mr. Lino, is a lovely person, cultured and pleasant to talk to. Fish-based dinner, all very fresh and expertly prepared and served. The desserts are also excellent. Average prices and certainly proportionate. What can I say .. excellent evening and highly recommended local. I will definitely be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been at Salerno for 4 days and this is by far the best restaurant I've been to so far. I had the calamaretti ripieni (calamari with a filling) on a bed of cream potato mash. Exquiste. Fresh, beautiful delicate flavours. A real joy. I will be here tomorrow night to try another meal, as the menu choices all seem delicious. Highly recommend it. Owner is a character and be prepared to wait awhile for your order to be taken as he loves to chat with patrons. Food us served very quickly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a pleasant place! Very nice, typical restaurant, on a beautiful square. It is this blend of apparent simplicity, fresh and tasty ingredients, that make Italian cuisine so great. And at Ciccioformaggio, there is that extra care, and some imagination, that bring dishes to the next level. This could easily be a one star Michelin restaurant.
To top it all off, the owner is an attraction all by himself. Full of life, typically Italian in his gestures, speaking Italian with an approximative touch of English or French, to the delight of foreign customers. After eating here, you will probably be as enthusiast about his food as you will of his character.
Highly recommended. If you only eat once in Salerno during your stay, this is it. Oh, and locals love it too.
