★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Purtroppo la chiesa, con evidenti danni strutturali, (dovuti al terremoto?), visibili anche dall'esterno, risulta da tempo chiusa per motivi di sicurezza. Non sono visibili opere di restauro e non risulta siano state avviate. È un vero peccato che questa chiesa, che in numerose foto d'archivio presenta così tanti aspetto artistici di rilievo non sia fruibile per il pubblico di appassionati d'arte medioevale.
Fa parte dell'itinerario "Valle delle Abbazie", ma molte di queste chiese non hanno un orario di visita per i turisti. Qualcuna può essere visitata grazie alla disponibilità di esercizi in loco che hanno le chiavi... ma non si incentiva in questo modo un turismo culturale... Speriamo in tempi migliori... :(
Unfortunately the church, with evident structural damage (due to the earthquake?), Visible also from the outside, has been closed for some time for safety reasons. No restoration works are visible and it does not appear to have been started. It is a real shame that this church, which in numerous archive photos presents so many important artistic aspects, is not accessible to the public of medieval art lovers.
It is part of the "Valley of the Abbeys" itinerary, but many of these churches do not have a visiting schedule for tourists. Some can be visited thanks to the availability of on-site shops that have the keys ... but this does not encourage cultural tourism ... Let's hope for better times ... :(

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Posta fuori dal paese in prossimità del cimitero, l’Abbazia di San Salvatore del XIII secolo è una bella e semplice chiesa romanica immersa nel silenzio e nel verde. Un tempo essa faceva parte di un complesso benedettino di una certa importanza. Dall’esterno si nota la presenza di sistemi di rinforzo (specie nel campanile) per garantire la sua stabilità a seguito dei danni inferti dell’ultimo terremoto. La chiesa era chiusa in occasione della mia visita.
Located outside the town near the cemetery, the 13th-century Abbey of San Salvatore is a beautiful and simple Romanesque church surrounded by silence and greenery. At one time it was part of a Benedictine complex of some importance. From the outside you can see the presence of reinforcement systems (especially in the bell tower) to ensure its stability following the damage inflicted by the last earthquake. The church was closed on the occasion of my visit.
