Il giorno della festa di San Berardo è consuetudine che il Vescovo ed il clero della diocesi facciano processione solenne dalla cattedrale, a questa chiesa madre e cantino il "Credo", per riconoscenza della fede germinata e ricevuta, originata da questo luogo sacro. First Christian church of Interamnia, built in the 6th century on the ruins of the imperial Roman area and rebuilt in the 12th century in Romanesque style. On the feast day of San Berardo it is customary for the Bishop and the clergy of the diocese to make a solemn procession from the cathedral to this mother church and sing the "Credo", in gratitude for the germinated and received faith, originating from this sacred place.

Peccato che sia la chiesa che la villa romana adiacente, come il mosaico dei leoni non siano facilmente fruibili dai visitatori e turisti. Nice to see a church with Roman excavations below. Too bad that both the church and the adjacent Roman villa, like the mosaic of lions, are not easily accessible to visitors and tourists.

La chiesa sorge laddove sorgeva la prima cattedrale di Teramo. It is a small church, nothing transcendental. Costruita in epoca bizantina, utilizzando parte delle fondamenta di una domus romana, fu poi distrutta dai normanni nel 1156. Venne ricostruita nel XIII secolo così come la possiamo vedere ora. Come si può notare dalla foto è sicuramente poco valorizzata, ma ben tenuta! ? Calcolando che è sopra a parte della domus romana, cogliete l'occasione e andate a visitarle entrambe!!! ? Built in the Byzantine era, using part of the foundations of a Roman domus, it was then destroyed by the Normans in 1156. It was rebuilt in the 13th century as we can see it now. As you can see from the photo, it is certainly not very much appreciated, but well kept! ? Calculating that it is above part of the Roman domus, take the opportunity and go and visit them both !!! ?
S	STEVE BEST on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Al di là del nome, la chiesa ha una lunga storia travagliata e misteriosa, nasce da una cappella privata di una Domus romana o da un tempietto di essa, i cui resti della Domus sono liberamente visitabili vicino, la chiesa oltre ad essere il primo luogo religioso cristiano della città romana e chiesa più antica, diventa cattedrale per poi essere distrutta nel 1156 da parte dei Normanni a cui seguirà la distruzione dell'intera città. Dopo una riedificazione cambia nome continuamente perdendo la sua origine e la sua storia per poi essere riscoperta ai giorni nostri, divenendo un piccolo gioiello artistico e architettonico della città. Beyond the name, the church has a long troubled and mysterious history, it was born from a private chapel of a Roman Domus or from a small temple of it, whose remains of the Domus can be freely visited nearby, the church as well as being the first place Christian religious of the Roman city and oldest church, it becomes a cathedral and then it was destroyed in 1156 by the Normans, followed by the destruction of the entire city. After a rebuilding it constantly changes its name, losing its origin and its history and then being rediscovered today, becoming a small artistic and architectural jewel of the city.
