★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa parrocchiale della Candelora (SS Purificazione), intitolata ai Santi Nicola e Giovanni Battista, si apre su una piccola piazzetta nei pressi del fiume Vergari, tra i palazzi Cappa e Marescalco. Venne edificata nel XVII secolo, l'interno è a tre navate, con eleganti e ampie arcate a tutto sesto, in pietra locale, sugli altari sono presenti alcune pregevoli statue tra cui la statua del patrono San Nicola e alcuni dipinti di notevole fattura. Al suo interno è conservata l'opera pittorica più antica di Mesoraca: il battesimo di Cristo, del secolo XVI di autore ignoto. L'esterno è abbellito da tre portali in pietra ognuno di diversa forma, e da un magnifico campanile a cuspide. Fino alla fine del Settecento si trovava sotto il titolo di Santa Maria della Purificazione ed era una cappella della adiacente chiesa matrice di San Niccolò. Dopo il sisma del 1783, i sacerdoti abbandonarono la già diruta chiesa matrice di San Niccolò, e così la Purificazione, incorporando anche la parrocchia di San Giovanni Battista, venne intitolata ai due santi.
The parish church of Candelora (SS Purificazione), dedicated to the Saints Nicola and Giovanni Battista, opens onto a small square near the Vergari river, between the Cappa and Marescalco palaces. It was built in the seventeenth century, the interior has three naves, with elegant and wide round arches, in local stone, on the altars there are some valuable statues including the statue of the patron Saint Nicholas and some paintings of remarkable workmanship. Inside it is preserved the oldest pictorial work of Mesoraca: the baptism of Christ, from the XVI century by an unknown author. The exterior is adorned with three stone portals, each of different shapes, and a magnificent spire bell tower. Until the end of the eighteenth century it was under the title of Santa Maria della Purificazione and was a chapel of the adjacent church of San Niccolò. After the earthquake of 1783, the priests abandoned the already ruined parish church of San Niccolò, and so the Purification, also incorporating the parish of San Giovanni Battista, was named after the two saints.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una chiesa costruita nella seconda meta' del cinquecento.Disposta su tre navate con eleganti arcate in pietra calcarea,la facciata e' affiancata sul lato sinistro da un campanile con cuspide e tre portali anche essi in pietra ognuno di diversa forma,probabilmente di spoglio,nel suo interno ospita alcune tele seicentesche pretiane e una del cinquecento sull'altare maggiore, di eccezionale fattura.
A church built in the second half of the sixteenth century. Arranged on three naves with elegant limestone arches, the facade is flanked on the left side by a bell tower with a cusp and three portals also in stone each of different shape, probably bare, inside it houses some seventeenth-century Praetian paintings and one of the sixteenth century on the high altar, of exceptional workmanship.
