★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Originariamente dedicata all’Annunziata (lo dimostra una piccola scultura in un edicola della porta laterale) fu ricostruita nel 1700 da una ricca famiglia del posto (d'Errico) dopo che era stato danneggiata da un forte terremoto. La chiesa era situata a ridosso delle antiche mura, vicino alla porta detta “del lago”. L’attuale ingresso risale al XX secolo, mentre precedentemente l’ingresso principale era situato a sinistra. La chiesa dentro è purtroppo restaurata in stile barocco, senza dipinti degni di nota. All’esterno, sopra la porta d’ingresso, vi è un orologio con numero romani, da poco restaurato e funzionante. Purtroppo la chiesa è quasi sempre chiusa, tranne in rare occasioni. Da visitare se già siete stati a MSA e se avete già visto tutto il resto!
Originally dedicated to the Annunziata (this is demonstrated by a small sculpture in a shrine of the side door) it was rebuilt in 1700 by a wealthy local family (d'Errico) after it had been damaged by a strong earthquake. The church was located close to the ancient walls, near the gate known as “del lago”. The current entrance dates back to the twentieth century, while previously the main entrance was located on the left. The church inside is unfortunately restored in the Baroque style, with no noteworthy paintings. Outside, above the entrance door, there is a clock with a Roman numeral, recently restored and in working order. Unfortunately the church is almost always closed, except on rare occasions. A must visit if you have already been to MSA and if you have already seen everything else!
