La chiesa sorge sopra un terreno dove si trovava una chiesetta precedente accanto ad un cimitero di cui oggi non c'è più traccia. Sotto la chiesa, che ha subito tre interventi di restauro a partire dal 1986, sono stati rinvenuti numerosi reperti di epoche precedenti tra cui un frammento di sarcofago greco risalente al III secolo d.c. Molto suggestivi all'interno l'altare barocco e gli affreschi di scuola friulana. Altrettanto interessante il campanile che lascia intuire l'aspetto della chiesa originaria da cui si è sviluppato per fasi successive l'attuale edificio come lo vediamo oggi. The church stands on land where there was a previous church next to a cemetery of which there is no trace today. Under the church, which has undergone three restoration works since 1986, numerous finds from earlier eras have been found, including a fragment of a Greek sarcophagus dating back to the 3rd century AD Inside the baroque altar and the Friulian school frescoes are very suggestive. Equally interesting is the bell tower which suggests the appearance of the original church from which the present building developed as we see it today.
