Dal 1439, con l'arrivo dei Canonici Lateranensi, la chiesa venne modificata fino ad assumere l'aspetto attuale nel 1573. Al suo interno (e nell'ex refettorio a fianco) si possono ammirare dipinti cinquecenteschi di Bernardino Gatti, Giovanni Battista Trotti e Gian Francesco Bembo. Da visitare! Erected in 1064, it owes its name to the fact that in ancient times the Po river flowed nearby. From 1439, with the arrival of the Lateran Canons, the church was modified until it assumed its present appearance in 1573. Inside (and in the former refectory alongside) you can admire sixteenth-century paintings by Bernardino Gatti, Giovanni Battista Trotti and Gian Francesco Bembo. To visit!

L	Luca Sperandio on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chiesa poco conosciuta, ma assolutamente straordinaria, a mio parere la più bella del centro storico di Cremona. L'esterno un po' trasandato non lascia nemmeno immaginare la grande ricchezza dell'interno, completamente affrescato in ogni dove con dipinti di grandi autori lombardi del Cinquecento, tra i quali Giulio Campi, Bernardino Gatti e il Malosso. Anche l'interno, purtroppo, non presenta uno stato di conservazione ottimale, e necessiterebbe di una vasta operazione di restauro, che riporterebbe questo magnifico edificio agli antichi splendori. Nonostante ciò, la chiesa è davvero splendida e merita di essere visitata. Church little known, but absolutely extraordinary, in my opinion the most beautiful in the historic center of Cremona. The slightly scruffy exterior does not even let you imagine the great richness of the interior, completely frescoed everywhere with paintings by great Lombard authors of the sixteenth century, including Giulio Campi, Bernardino Gatti and Malosso. Even the interior, unfortunately, does not present an optimal state of conservation, and would require a major restoration operation, which would bring this magnificent building back to its former glory. Despite this, the church is truly splendid and deserves to be visited.
V	Veronica Bonura on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa di San Pietro Po si trova nel centro storico di Cremona. La costruzione attuale risale al XVI secolo. La facciata accenna a un pre barocco. L'interno è diviso in tre navate, prevale il manierismo. Le caratteristiche che rendono spettacolare questa chiesa: - opere dei fratelli Campi; - nel secondo altare sinistra dall'ingresso, il capolavoro di gatti; - nel refettorio "moltiplicazione del pane e pesci" affreschi di Gatti. ASSOLUTAMENTE DA VISITARE Un ringraziamento al prete, stato così gentile da darci approfondimenti storico artistici sia sulla chiesa di San Pietro Po che su quella di Sant'Imerio. Ancora grazie mille. Ingresso: libero visitato l'8/05/2021 The church of San Pietro Po is located in the historic center of Cremona. The current construction dates back to the 16th century. The facade hints at a pre-Baroque. The interior is divided into three naves, mannerism prevails. The features that make this church spectacular: - works by the Campi brothers; - in the second altar left from the entrance, the masterpiece of cats; - in the refectory "multiplication of bread and fish" frescoes by Gatti. ABSOLUTELY TO VISIT Thanks to the priest, who was kind enough to give us historical and artistic insights on both the church of San Pietro Po and that of Sant'Imerio. Thanks again very much.
