In Verano Brianza a new church was built, huge, decidedly out of scale, then as now, for a town, albeit an illustrious one, such as Verano. If absolutely worth a visit, better if devout, the Antica Prepositurale dei SS. Nazaro and Celso now Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception of Lourdes, an equally attentive visit is due to the grandiose, new and vast Temple that dominates the town and its surroundings with its terracotta mass. The exterior is in a style that would like to be a very modernized neo-Romanesque, an evident attempt by the designer, approved by Monsignor Prevosto and by the assembly of heads of families of the Parish Prepositural, to "break away" from the traditional neo-Romanesque, without to deny the typically Lombard-Padana Sacred Architecture, but with somehow "futuristic" suggestions. The fresco decorations also on the high columns that mark the trinavato space recall the fresco "Bible of the Poor" of the Paleochristian and Medieval, Byzantine, Romanesque and Gothic churches. The tradition of the Padan ecclesial style and beyond shines in the airiness of the interior of the New Magnificent Temple of Verano Brianza.
