Fu danneggiata dal sisma del 2009 che provocò lo spostamento dell'assetto stazionario nonché il crollo della parte sommitale della facciata. Dal 2017 è stata riaperta al pubblico. Church dedicated to San Vito dating back to the thirteenth century. It was damaged by the earthquake of 2009 which caused the displacement of the stationary structure as well as the collapse of the top part of the facade. Since 2017 it has been reopened to the public.

Gravemente danneggiata dal sisma del 06- 04-2009 è stata ristrutturata nel 2014, dal 18 giugno 2017 è stata interamente riaperta al pubblico. Limitrofa alla famosa fontana delle 99 Capannelle è consigliato visitarla. The church of San Vito alla Rivera is one of the churches of L'Aquila and, like almost all the churches of L'Aquila, it owes its construction to the inhabitants of one of the castles in the district, in this case that of Tornimparte in the thirteenth century. Severely damaged by the earthquake of 06-04-2009, it was renovated in 2014, and since 18 June 2017 it has been entirely reopened to the public.
