★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Qui sono stato battezzato e qui ho sposato mia moglie. Nella chiesa sono anche custoditi dei bei quadri, oltre a mosaici di artisti contemporanei (Greco e Fantuzzi)
Here I was baptized and here I married my wife. In the church they are preserved beautiful paintings, as well as mosaics by contemporary artists (Greek and Fantuzzi)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Parrocchia di San Nicola e' un fiore all'occhiello per la citta' di Cosenza . Il mio consiglio e' di frequentarla, io purtroppo vivo un po distante.
The Parish of San Nicola is a flagship for the city of Cosenza. My advice is to attend it, unfortunately I live a bit far away.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa di San Nicola e’ posizionata in centro città; a pochi passi dal corso principale di Cosenza (c.so Mazzini) e alle spalle di Palazzo
e piazza dei Bruti sede del municipio cittadino.
L’attuale chiesta fu costruita tra la fine degli anni 50 e i primi del 1960.
Posta nel quartiere dei “rivocati”, ai confini con
il centro storico e’ caratterizzata da uno stile sobrio e funzionale.
All’interno sono allocate alcune opere d’arte caratteristiche come:
-il ricco pannello bronzeo, posto alle spalle dell’altare, con Scene della Passione, dovuto all'arte di Tommaso Gismondi;
-uno splendido mosaico realizzato dall'artista siciliano Franco d'Urso;
-tre mosaici che compongono un breve ciclo di Eliano Fantuzzi.
All’esterno, in piazza Cenisio, e’ presente un muro il quale, oltre ad essere stato creato per un uso funzionale (rampa per l’accesso nel luogo di culto dei disabili) ha un valore artistico, dovendo rappresentare la distinzione tra stato (Comune) e chiesa!.
The church of San Nicola is located in the city center; a short walk from the main street of Cosenza (c.so Mazzini) and behind Palazzo
and the square of the Brutes home to the city hall.
The present claimed was built in the late '50s and early 1960s.
Located in the neighborhood of the "rivocati", on the border with
the historic center is characterized by a sober and functional style.
Inside some artwork features are allocated as:
-the rich bronze panel, place behind the altar, with scenes of the Passion, due to the art of Tommaso Gismondi;
- a splendid mosaic made by the Sicilian artist Franco d'Urso;
-three mosaics that make up a short Eliano Fantuzzi cycle.
Outside, in the square Cenis, and 'present a wall which, besides being created for business purposes (access ramp to the place of worship for the disabled) has an artistic value, having to represent the distinction between state ( Municipality) and church !.
