B	Blasco della Floresta on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Chiesa Madre di Gangi, intitolata a San Nicolò di Bari è un edificio risalente ad epoca normanna, ed ingrandito tra il XVII e XVIII secolo. Nel primo trentennio del'900, la cupola maiolicata settecentesca, in seguito a un crollo, venne sostituita dall'attuale in lamine di piombo e rame. All'interno vi sono numerose opere d'arte, da notare l' organo del 1738 di M. Andronico, la tela del Giudizio Universale di Giuseppe Salerno, uno degli "Zoppo di Gangi", e le statue in legno attribuite a Filippo Quattrocchi di S. Gaetano, S. Eligio, S. Vincenzo e S. Domenico. Da visitare inoltre la Cripta con le mummie di 60 sacerdoti di Gangi. All'interno della Chiesa vi sono delle guide che spiegano le varie opere custodite, molto brave e preparate. The Mother Church of Gangi, dedicated to San Nicolò di Bari is a building dating back to the Norman era, and enlarged between the 17th and 18th centuries. In the first thirty years of the 1900s, the eighteenth-century majolica dome, following a collapse, was replaced by the current one in lead and copper sheets. Inside there are numerous works of art, to note the 1738 organ by M. Andronico, the canvas of the Last Judgment by Giuseppe Salerno, one of the "Zoppo di Gangi", and the wooden statues attributed to Filippo Quattrocchi di S. Gaetano, S. Eligio, S. Vincenzo and S. Domenico. Also worth visiting is the Crypt with the mummies of 60 priests of Gangi. Inside the Church there are guides who explain the various works kept, very good and prepared.

Non bisogna infatti soffermarsi alla splendida facciata, con un piccolo ma strepitoso campanile, o alla splendida vista panoramica sulla relativa valle.con le tipiche case del luogo e tanto di binocolo. All'interno, dietro il tabernacolo uno splendido quadro, a occhio del tardo '500 rappresentante il giudizio universale. Lateralmente c’è un parcheggio libero con strisce bianche per un’ora, da mettere il disco orario. Visita consigliata! Adatto sia agli adulti che ai bambini. Gorgeous!
