★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Si tratta di una chiesa a croce latina del XVIII secolo, che sostituì la piccola chiesa di San Michele già menzionata nei documenti del XII secolo. Costruita sfruttando come appoggio un tratto delle mura di cinta medievali, al suo interno è conservato un prezioso Crocifisso ligneo del Seicento ritenuto miracoloso, opera dell’artista jesino Pier Domenico Neofrischi, soprannominato il Barnaro (morto a Rosora nel 1674). Tra le altre opere meritano di essere menzionati un “San Giovannino”, buona tela attribuita ad Andrea da Jesi (XVI sec.) e un “San Michele Arcangelo” (1820), opera del pittore, anch’egli jesino, Luigi Mancini, che riprodusse la famosa opera che Guido Reni (1575-1642) elaborò per la chiesa di Santa Maria della Concezione a Roma, la bella tela raffigurante “San Cristoforo” (XVI sec.), di un pittore di stile lottesco.
It is a Latin cross church from the 18th century, which replaced the small church of San Michele already mentioned in the 12th century documents. Built as a support for a stretch of the medieval city walls, inside there is a precious 17th century wooden crucifix considered miraculous, work of the Jesi artist Pier Domenico Neofrischi, nicknamed the Barnaro (died in Rosora in 1674). Among the other works, it is worth mentioning a "San Giovannino", a good painting attributed to Andrea da Jesi (16th century) and a "San Michele Arcangelo" (1820), the work of the painter, also Jesi, Luigi Mancini, who reproduced the famous work that Guido Reni (1575-1642) elaborated for the church of Santa Maria della Concezione in Rome, the beautiful canvas depicting "St. Christopher" (XVI century), of a painter of the wrestling style.
