★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L'inizio della comunità parrocchiale e dunque la storia della chiesa dell'Immacolata di Monte Sant'Angelo risale al 6 luglio del 1963 festa di Santa Maria Goretti, santa che ha dato il nome all'Azione Cattolica Parrocchiale. Il Primo parroco della nascete comunità fu Don Donato Notarangelo. Inizialmente la chiesa dedicata alla Concezione sorgeva presso una Cappella che negli anni precedenti fungeva da chiesa del Cimitero, prima che questlultimo fosse spostato. L'edificio era di piccole dimensioni e poteva accogliere pochissima gente per le celebrazioni eucaristiche. Si avverte dunque sin dal 1968 l'esigenza di costruire una nuova e più ampia chiesa. Nel 1968 ci fu un primo il tentativo di costruire la chiesa nuova in Piazza Vischi (attuale Piazza Giovanni Paolo II), ma il progetto fallì. Si dovrà attendere gli anni '80 e per la precisione il 1982 per l'inizio dei lavori dell'edificio di culto quando Parroco era Don Francesco Accarrino, succeduto a Don Donato nel 1973. Il luogo in cui sorgerà era prima adibito a cimitero della cittadina garganica. I lavori di costruzione dureranno circa due anni. È l'8 dicembre del 1984 il giorno in cui la nuova chiesa viene aperta da Mons. Valentino Vailati.
Il 4 giugno 1995 con Parroco don Matteo De Padova la Chiesa è stata Consacrata sotto il titolo di Immacolata Concezione da parte di Mons. Vincenzo d'Addario.
The beginning of the parish community and therefore the history of the church of the Immaculate Conception of Monte Sant'Angelo dates back to 6 July 1963, the feast of Santa Maria Goretti, a saint who gave the name to the Catholic Parish Action. The first parish priest of the nascent community was Don Donato Notarangelo. Initially the church dedicated to the Conception stood near a chapel which in previous years served as the church of the cemetery, before the latter was moved. The building was small in size and could accommodate very few people for Eucharistic celebrations. Since 1968 there has been a need to build a new and larger church. In 1968 there was a first attempt to build the new church in Piazza Vischi (now Piazza Giovanni Paolo II), but the project failed. You will have to wait until the 80s and to be precise 1982 for the beginning of the works of the building of worship when the parish priest was Don Francesco Accarrino, who succeeded Don Donato in 1973. The place where it will rise was first used as a cemetery of the town Gargano. The construction work will last about two years. It is December 8, 1984, the day on which the new church is opened by Archbishop Valentino Vailati.
On 4 June 1995 with the parish priest Don Matteo De Padova the Church was consecrated under the title of Immaculate Conception by Mons. Vincenzo d'Addario.
