★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Intensa esperienza; solo entrando ha un impatto non indifferente, si ha come l'impressione di essere tornato indietro nel tempo, quasi al medioevo. Questo è l'effetto che fanno gioielli architettonici come questo. Colonne e pavimenti in pietra viva restituiscono pienamente l'effetto descritto sopra; ma anche le volte affrescate fanno la loro parte in questo gioco.
 Intense experience; only upon entering does it have a significant impact, one has the impression of having gone back in time, almost to the Middle Ages. This is the effect that architectural jewelry like this does. Columns and floors in living stone fully return the effect described above; but the frescoed vaults also play their part in this game.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa si trova nel centro del borgo di Sermoneta, si presenta all'esterno con un poderoso campanile romanico, l'ingresso è inserito in un porticato a due arcate, l'interno è in stile romanico a tre arcate con colonne e pavimenti in pietra viva, le cappelle laterali affrescate da vere opere d'arte. Veramente bella e trasmette tanta spiritualità.
The church is located in the center of the village of Sermoneta, is outside with a mighty Romanesque bell tower, the entrance is inserted in a portico with two arches, the interior is in Romanesque style with three arches with columns and stone floors alive, the side chapels frescoed with real works of art. Really beautiful and transmits so much spirituality.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una chiesa costruita nei secoli VIII o IX sulle rovine di un antico tempio pagano. Bello l'interno, con gli affreschi e il campanile quadrato. Annesso alla chiesa il museo ad ingresso libero.
A church built in the 8th or 9th centuries on the ruins of an ancient pagan temple. The interior is beautiful, with frescoes and a square bell tower. Attached to the church is the museum with free admission.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chiesa incantevole nel pieno centro del borgo di Sermoneta. Mi ha colpito molto il cartello all’ingresso che va a mio avviso oltre la consueta richiesta di decoro dei luoghi culto, dove il parroco quasi come un inquisitore del 1200 chiede addirittura di non entrare con abiti alla moda, aderenti o scollati, il che rende quasi impossibile accedere alla chiesa nel periodo estivo.. insomma un bel salto nel medioevo ?
Enchanting church in the heart of the village of Sermoneta. I was very impressed by the sign at the entrance which, in my opinion, goes beyond the usual request for decoration of places of worship, where the parish priest, almost like an inquisitor of the 1200s, even asks not to enter with fashionable clothes, tight or low-cut, which makes almost impossible to access the church in the summer .. in short, a good leap into the Middle Ages ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Antica chiesa nel bellissimo centro storico di Sermoneta le cui origini si fanno risalire sino al V secolo sui resti di un antico tempio pagano e che oggi appare in stile romanico e cistercense.
Molto belle le volte e notevole pala di Benozzo Gozzoli.
Di bellissima fattura anche il campanile che appare lungo la via di accesso di fronte alla piazza antistante la chiesa.
Merita una visita così come tutto il centro storico.
Ancient church in the beautiful historic center of Sermoneta whose origins date back to the fifth century on the remains of an ancient pagan temple and which today appears in Romanesque and Cistercian style.
The vaults and remarkable altarpiece by Benozzo Gozzoli are very beautiful.
The bell tower that appears along the access road in front of the square in front of the church is also beautifully made.
It deserves a visit as well as the whole historic center.
