L	Lorenzo Torielli on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Uno dei maggiori esempi di architettura quattrocentesca del Piemonte con l'ampia facciata, tripartita da lesene con cuspidi cilindriche e con rosone in cotto che sovrasta il portale, ricalca - come l'intera costruzione - una tipologia tipica della zona. Dal sagrato è possibile godere di un'ampia vista sulla valle sottostante e sulle colline in direzione della vicina località di Cuccaro Monferrato e del vicino casalese. All'interno, di particolare valore artistico sono la Via Crucis con i quadri del pittore Paolo Gaidano (1861-1916) e le decorazioni del pittore Raffaele Panizza. Nella nicchia di fondo del coro ligneo datato 1711 è collocata una statua in marmo bianco di Carrara, di stile barocco e di probabile scuola del Bernini, raffigurante la Vergine Assunta, titolare della chiesa. Sempre nel coro è situato un Angelo orante del 1887, opera del pittore Costantino Serena, autore anche di un trionfo della vergine, posto nella volta. Nella cappella di fondo della navata sinistra vi è poi il polittico del Santo Rosario del 1854 composto da quindici tavole dipinte da Ambrogio Oliva, suocero di Guglielmo Caccia detto il Moncalvo. Tra gli arredi, oltre all'altare maggiore in marmo policromo, è da segnalare l'organo di duemila canne. One of the greatest examples of fifteenth-century architecture in Piedmont with its large façade, divided into three parts by pilasters with cylindrical cusps and a terracotta rose window above the portal, it follows - like the entire building - a typical typology of the area. From the churchyard it is possible to enjoy a broad view of the valley below and the hills towards the nearby town of Cuccaro Monferrato and the nearby Casalese. Inside, the Via Crucis with paintings by the painter Paolo Gaidano (1861-1916) and the decorations by the painter Raffaele Panizza are of particular artistic value. In the niche at the bottom of the wooden choir dated 1711 there is a statue in white Carrara marble, in Baroque style and probably from the Bernini school, depicting the Assumption of the Virgin, owner of the church. Also in the choir is a praying Angel from 1887, the work of the painter Costantino Serena, also author of a triumph of the virgin, placed in the vault. In the chapel at the bottom of the left aisle there is also the polyptych of the Holy Rosary of 1854 consisting of fifteen panels painted by Ambrogio Oliva, father-in-law of Guglielmo Caccia known as Moncalvo. Among the furnishings, in addition to the main altar in polychrome marble, the organ of two thousand pipes is worth mentioning.
