★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissima chiesa (dove venni battezzata) risalente al 1195 sotto il regno di Enrico VI. L'interno di questa chiesa è a tre navate con cripta ed è decorato in stile barocco. Il soffitto è decorato con dei bellissimi affreschi.
Nella chiesa sono conservate le reliquie del corpo di San Cesareo e un'ampolla con il sangue di don Cesare Michelangelo d'Avalos. All'interno della chiesa è anche conservata la reliquia della Sacra Spina, la corona che cinse il capo di Gesù, la cui storia è legata alla nobile casata dei Principi d'Avalos, feudatari della città di Vasto. La corona venne donata nel 1566 da Papa Pio IV a don Ferdinando d'Avalos. Successivamente, la corona pervenne a don Alfonso d'Avalos che la portò a Vasto.
Beautiful church (where I was baptized) dating back to 1195 under the reign of Henry VI. The interior of this church has three naves with a crypt and is decorated in the Baroque style. The ceiling is decorated with beautiful frescoes.
The church houses the relics of the body of San Cesareo and an ampoule with the blood of Don Cesare Michelangelo d'Avalos. Inside the church there is also the relic of the Holy Thorn, the crown that surrounded the head of Jesus, whose history is linked to the noble family of the Princes of Avalos, feudal lords of the city of Vasto. The crown was donated in 1566 by Pope Pius IV to Don Ferdinando d'Avalos. Subsequently, the crown came to Don Alfonso d'Avalos who brought it to Vasto.
