★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una magnifica chiesa del XIII SECOLO. Costruita durante la ricostruzione della "nuova" Celano dopo che al vecchio abitato venne raso al suolo da Federico II di Svevia, a causa di scontri con il conte Tommaso.
I vari terremoti che sono susseguiti nel tempo hanno messo a dura prova l'edificio religioso, facendo perde spesso tracce della sua storia come crolli dell'abside o della cupola o ancora della navata centrale. Ogni volta ricostruiti.
Ad oggi è come un libro dove è possibile leggere sulle sue mura la sua storia, a partire dagli affreschi che si trovano sulla destra che probabilmente furono commissionati dalla contessa Jacovella.
A magnificent 13th CENTURY church. Built during the reconstruction of the "new" Celano after the old town was razed to the ground by Frederick II of Swabia, due to clashes with Count Tommaso.
