Bellissime le statue di Gesù Risorto e della Madonna Del Ss Rosario. La chiesa una decina di anni fa è stata ristrutturata dando possibilità di visionare gli scavi antichi. Alcuni quadri da ammirare e con l'occasione da visitare alcune strutture che la circondano come il terrazzo omonimo dal quale si può vedere un panorama mozzafiato. Sarebbe meglio la presenza di un cicerone che aiuterebbe a ripercorrere la storicità dei luoghi. Da sottolineare la presenza di targhe descrittive. P	Paolo Marraffa on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa è costruita a pianta longitudinale con una sola navata a croce latina, sormontata da una volta a botte illuminata da finestre a lunetta raffiguranti la croce gerosolimitana dei Cavalieri di Malta, con tre cappelle per lato ed un presbiterio coperto da una cupola. La facciata è scolpita da una serie di capitello ionici e corinzi, sovrastati da un timpano alla sommità. Il portone dell'ingresso principale è del XVII secolo, bordato ai lati con colonne di pietra verde di Gimigliano con a capo dei capitelli ionici, mentre al di sopra vi è una nicchia con all'interno la statua di San Giovanni Battista, realizzata a Napoli nel 1632 e attribuita a Giandomenico Monterosso (Mario Panarello: Artisti della tarda maniera del Viceregno di Napoli- Rubbettino Editore). Nel 1877 venne ribassato il piano stradale e, per facilitare l'accesso alla chiesa, venne costruita una doppia rampa di scale di forma semicircolare. Al giorno d'oggi, adiacente alla chiesa, vi è un palazzo in cui hanno sede l'Assessorato comunale alla cultura e della Sovrintendenza ai beni artistici e ambientali. The church is built on a longitudinal plan with a single Latin cross nave, surmounted by a barrel vault illuminated by lunette windows depicting the Jerusalem cross of the Knights of Malta, with three chapels on each side and a presbytery covered by a dome. The facade is sculpted by a series of Ionic and Corinthian capitals, surmounted by a tympanum at the top. The main entrance door is from the seventeenth century, bordered on the sides with columns of green Gimigliano stone with Ionic capitals at the head, while above there is a niche with the statue of San Giovanni Battista inside, made in Naples in 1632 and attributed to Giandomenico Monterosso (Mario Panarello: Artists of the late manner of the Viceroyalty of Naples - Rubbettino Editore). In 1877 the street level was lowered and, to facilitate access to the church, a double flight of semicircular stairs was built. Nowadays, adjacent to the church, there is a building where the Municipal Department of Culture and the Superintendence of Artistic and Environmental Heritage are located.
