★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie fu eretta nel corso del XVIII secolo per volere dei vescovi di Veroli De Zaulis e De Tartagnis nel luogo dove si trovava una piccola omonima cona e la Chiesa di San Lorenzo. La chiesa, a navata unica, presenta varie cappelle laterali e un prezioso affresco del XIV secolo, posto dietro l'altare centrale, raffigurante la Madonna che allatta il Bambino, tipica immagine di devozione popolare nonché unico frammento dell'antico edificio di San Lorenzo. Nel giugno del 1776 la custodia della Chiesa fu affidata ai padri redentoristi e al culto della Madonna delle Grazie venne associata la devozione per San Gerardo Maiella. La festa del santo, l'ultima domenica di settembre, richiama ogni anno migliaia di fedeli. San Clemente Maria Hofbauer visse per un certo tempo nell'annessa casa religiosa fondata da Sant'Alfonso e in questa Chiesa celebrò la sua prima Santa Messa. È ancora oggi officiata dai padri redentoristi che hanno in questo santuario una loro casa.
The church of Santa Maria delle Grazie was erected during the 18th century at the behest of the bishops of Veroli De Zaulis and De Tartagnis in the place where there was a small homonymous cona and the Church of San Lorenzo. The church, with a single nave, has several side chapels and a precious 14th century fresco, located behind the central altar, depicting the Madonna nursing the Child, a typical image of popular devotion and the only fragment of the ancient building of San Lorenzo. In June 1776 the custody of the Church was entrusted to the Redemptorist fathers and the devotion to San Gerardo Maiella was associated to the cult of the Madonna delle Grazie. The feast of the saint, the last Sunday of September, attracts thousands of faithful every year. St. Clement Maria Hofbauer lived for a time in the annexed religious house founded by St. Alphonsus and in this Church he celebrated his first Holy Mass. It is still today officiated by the Redemptorist fathers who have a home in this sanctuary.
