Interessante la struttura del battistero romanico. Prezioso l'inserimento nel contesto urbanistico ed architettonico dell'intero complesso. Alcuni ritrovamenti archeologici fanno risalire la chiesa all'Alto Medioevo. La chiesa, ad una navata finemente decorata, è a forma di croce latina e conserva la parte superiore del campanile romanico originale. All'interno si notano gli affreschi: Madonna con Bambino in trono tra S. Eufemia e S. Caterina d'Alessandria (attribuito a Marco d'Oggiono, allievo di Leonardo da Vinci); Sposalizio della Beata Vergine e di San Giuseppe (Andrea Appiani), oltre ad un organo settecentesco dei fratelli Serassi. Tra i più significativi monumenti del romanico lombardo, il Battistero di S. Giovanni Battista. I restauri e gli scavi condotti dal 1997 al 1999 hanno messo in luce due fasi precendenti: un primo battistero a pianta quadrata, del V-VI secolo, un secondo con più absidi, infine la costruzione attuale dell'XI secolo che presenta la caratteristica pianta ottagonale con absidi sporgenti. Caratteristici gli affreschi appartenenti alla fine del '400 e l'inizio del'500 che raffigurano tra gli altri, S. Eufemia, S.Rocco e S. The church, with a finely decorated nave, is in the shape of a Latin cross and preserves the upper part of the original Romanesque bell tower. Caterina d'Alessandria (attributed to Marco d'Oggiono, a pupil of Leonardo da Vinci); Marriage of the Blessed Virgin and St. Joseph (Andrea Appiani), as well as an eighteenth-century organ of the Serassi brothers. Among the most significant monuments of the Lombard Romanesque, the Baptistery of S. Giovanni Battista. The restorations and excavations conducted from 1997 to 1999 have brought to light two previous phases: a first baptistery with a square plan, from the 5th-6th century, a second with several apses, and finally the current construction of the 11th century which presents the characteristic plant octagonal with protruding apses. The frescoes belonging to the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century depicting, among others, S. Eufemia, S. Rocco and S. Giovanni Battista are characteristic.
