Consacrata nel 1803 ed eretta parrocchia indipendente nel 1858. Struttura ad aula unica coperta da una volta a botte. Facciata a capanna in cui si apre il portale centrale sormontato da un occhio. Il campanile termina con un’elegante cipolla alla cui sommità sta la croce del cristo. Il campanile a pianta quadrata presenta su tutti e quattro i lati orologi funzionanti, ed è dotato di campane perfettamente intonate suonate mediante martelletti meccanici programmati. All’interno della chiesa catino absidale decorato con affresco raffigurante il Sacro Cuore di Gesù benedicente tra schiere di Angeli musicanti. Sulla parete dell’abside riquadri con scene cristologiche.
Nella volta affrescato il miracolo di Sant’Abbondio patrono della frazione di Somana, che con la resurrezione di una bambina induce i pagani alla conversione!
Sant’abbondio - Somana
Consecrated in 1803 and built as an independent parish in 1858. Structure with a single room covered by a barrel vault. Gabled facade in which the central portal opens surmounted by an eye. The bell tower ends with an elegant onion at the top of which is the cross of Christ. The square bell tower has functioning clocks on all four sides, and is equipped with perfectly tuned bells played by programmed mechanical hammers. Inside the church, apsidal basin decorated with a fresco depicting the Sacred Heart of Jesus blessing among hosts of musician Angels. On the wall of the apse there are panels with Christological scenes.
In the frescoed vault the miracle of Sant’Abbondio, patron saint of the hamlet of Somana, which with the resurrection of a little girl leads the pagans to conversion!
