Il toponimo "carcere" non ha nulla a che vedere con il carcere di Camerino è anzi indicativo di segregazione per vita contemplativa.
È interessante ricordare che nel 1591 il rettore Angelo Matteucci vi accolse, fuoriporta, i Filippini trasferitisi a Camerino.
All'interno affresco staccato da edicola del XV secolo con Madonna e Bambino.
Il campanile giace in pezzi sul prato a destra della chiesa. Fortemente danneggiato durate l'ultimo terremoto fu così messo in sicurezza.

A recurring form in the territory, the church was built at the end of the sixteenth century on a central plan.
The toponym "prison" has nothing to do with the prison of Camerino and is indeed indicative of segregation for a contemplative life.
It is interesting to remember that in 1591 the rector Angelo Matteucci welcomed the Filipinos who had moved to Camerino outside the city.
Inside there is a fresco detached from a 15th century aedicule with the Madonna and Child.
The bell tower lies in pieces on the lawn to the right of the church. Heavily damaged during the last earthquake it was thus made safe.
