Complimenti ai comuni di Valenzano e Ceglie per aver rivalutato questa Chiesa con un percorso ambientalista e aver organizzato concerti all'aperto. Vabbè, si guarda solo esternamente. In quel di Valenzano, paesino alle porte di Bari. La chiesa è la rimanenza di un'intero complesso monastico che dopo il suo declino come centro ecclesiastico è stato utilizzato come fonte di materiale edile per altre chiese. Faceva parte di un complesso monastico più grande di cui non vi sono più tracce in quanto il materiale da costruzione è stato utilizzato per l'edificazione della chiesa della Madonna del Pozzo di Capurso. Gli olivi che circondano la chiesa probabilmente risalgono al tradizionale palmento appartenente al monastero. Si ipotizza che sia stata edificata su un tempio dedicato a tutti i Numi o su delle precedenti cappelle. All'interno è particolarmente pulita, a tratti spoglia, mancando gli arredi originali, ma di una bellezza disarmante. Purtroppo sia il restauro degli interni che il numero delle celebrazioni è ridotto per mancanza di fondi, sicuramente sarebbe un posto da valorizzare. L'ubicazione rientra nei percorsi cicloturistici consigliati collegando Valenzano a Capurso. One of the finest examples of Apulian Romanesque dating back to the 11th century. The olive trees surrounding the church probably date back to the traditional millstone belonging to the monastery. It is assumed that it was built on a temple dedicated to all the Numi or on the previous chapels. Unfortunately, both the restoration of the interiors and the number of celebrations are reduced due to lack of funds, certainly it would be a place to be valued.
