R	Roberto Gerbi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il primitivo convento benedettino risalente al XII secolo con annessa chiesa dedicata a San Martino costituisce il primo nucleo abitativo di La Morra, successivamente trasferito sulla sommità della collina. Di quell’epoca rimangono l’abside, la piccola cappella ad essa laterale con frammento di affresco, il campanile in pietra e in mattoni con bifore e trifore. Nel XVII secolo la chiesa subì radicali restauri e venne intitolata alla Santissima Annunziata. La facciata venne rifatta nel 1684 su disegno dell’arch. Michelangelo Garove. All’interno furono rivestite le colonne e decorata l’abside all’insegna del tema iconografico del monaco servita. La pala centrale raffigura La Madonna dei sette dolori. Nel pavimento è conservata una stele funeraria romana. The primitive Benedictine convent dating back to the 12th century with an adjoining church dedicated to San Martino constitutes the first inhabited nucleus of La Morra, later transferred to the top of the hill. The apse remains from that era, the small chapel to it lateral with a fragment of fresco, the stone and brick bell tower with mullioned and three-light windows. In the seventeenth century the church underwent radical restoration and was dedicated to the Annunciation. The facade was rebuilt in 1684, designed by Arch. Michelangelo Garove. Inside they were coated columns and decorated the apse dedicated to the iconographic theme of monaco served. The central altarpiece depicts Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows. In the floor it is preserved a Roman funerary stele.
