Costruita in stile romanico, a navata unica, con abside coperta da catino, tetto a capanna, sormontato da una campana in quanto il campanile è rimasto incompiuto. L'interno era completamente affrescato, ora rimangono poche tracce, nell'abside si intravede il Cristo in mandorla. La chiesa è affidata ai Frati Cappuccini. La chiesa risale al X secolo ma all'interno si possono vedere i resti della primitiva chiesa del VII secolo e il pavimento musivo di una villa romana. Gli affreschi del XII secolo sono quasi del tutto perduti, è leggibile solo la sinopia del Cristo Pantocratore dell'abside. La chiesa conserva comunque intatta la sua aurea mistica ed è collocata ai margini di un parco cittadino in una zona abbastanza silenziosa della metropoli, che la rende il completamento per una sosta di riposo dell'anima. Antico perché è una delle chiese più antiche di Milano che sorge su una Domus romana di cui si vedono i resti dalle vetrate del pavimento; nuova perché è all'interno di un complesso polivalente che offre molte attività ludiche, di socializzazione e sensibilizzazione culturale, a partire dalla biblioteca. Io ho partecipato anche alla messa domenicale (h 11.30) animata dai francescani cappuccini; per cui per chi è credente, approfittate della messa per farvi un giro. La chiesa è restaurata rispettando il più possibile le stratificazioni storiche e anche i danni del tempo, così che la storia pare attraversarla e arrivare a noi con tutto il suo fascino. Facilmente raggiungibile dai mezzi di superficie e dalla metro. It is worth stopping in this old and new place. The church has been restored respecting as much as possible the historical stratifications and also the damage of time, so that history seems to cross it and reach us with all its charm. Easily accessible from surface transport and from the metro.
