Giacomo si presenta all’interno con tre navate, separate da pilastri in arenaria proveniente dalle cave di Arquata che reggono archi a tutto sesto. Sulla controfacciata si trova l’organo Locatelli, risalente al 1875. Le decorazioni della chiesa risalgono al 1923. Rodolfo Gambini e Clemente Salsa svolsero i lavori di pittura, il figurista Felice Atzori eseguì quattro affreschi, tra cui quello nella volta del presbiterio. La chiesa presenta due file laterali di cappelle completate nell’800. L’altare maggiore è in stile barocco genovese, costruito dallo scultore di Genova Andrea Torre è del 1762, e risale alla stessa epoca il crocefisso sovrastante. Dietro l altare maggiore si trova il coro ligneo del 1764, meritevole di un occhiata, luogo in cui, ancor oggi, alcuni rappresentanti della confraternita del paese vanno per ascoltare messa. Per una scala si scende alla cripta, cui si accede anche da Via Libarna. Edificata nel 1633, la cripta era la cappella privata della famiglia del marchese Filippo Spinola. La cripta è affrescata con dipinti relativi alla Storia della Salvezza con l’Annunciazione, la Passione di Gesù Cristo e la sua Risurrezione, per cuj vale la pena visitarla, è sempre molto suggestiva. Nel complesso vale la pena andarla a visitare, poi la pace che regna al suo interno è impagabile.
