★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L'edificio affonda le sue origini in epoca bizantina. L'antica costruzione, dedicata a Santa Lucia, aveva la copertura a tegole e presentava tipici elementi medievali, scomparsi in seguito a diversi rifacimenti. L'attuale chiesa fu rifatta in epoca barocca e, all'antico culto per la santa di Siracusa, si affiancò quello per i Santi Medici Cosma e Damiano, attuali titolari. Fu ulteriormente ampliata e ammodernata tra il 1886 e il 1893
La facciata, preceduta da una scalinata, è caratterizzata da un basamento su cui poggiano due paraste angolari e due semicolonne che ripartiscono la superficie in tre sezioni verticali. Il coronamento è costituito da una cornice aggettante, con al centro la statua lapidea della Madonna Immacolata, su cui poggiano due torrette laterali, ospitanti le statue dei santi Cosma e Damiano. Le sezioni laterali sono composte ognuna da una nicchia, con la statua di Pietro apostolo a sinistra e di Paolo di Tarso a destra, mentre la sezione centrale inquadra il portone d'ingresso, con architrave spezzato tra il quale è posta una lapide che ricorda la dedicazione della chiesa, e la finestra centinata.
 The building has its origins in the Byzantine era. The ancient building, dedicated to Saint Lucia, had a tiled roof and presented typical medieval elements, which disappeared following several renovations. The present church was rebuilt in the Baroque period and, to the ancient cult for the saint of Syracuse, it was flanked that for the Saints Cosma and Damiano, current owners. It was further expanded and modernized between 1886 and 1893
The façade, preceded by a staircase, is characterized by a base on which rest two corner pilasters and two half-columns that divide the surface into three vertical sections. The crowning is made up of a jutting frame, with a stone statue of the Virgin Immaculate in the center, on which two side turrets rest, housing the statues of Saints Cosmas and Damian. The lateral sections are each composed of a niche, with the statue of Pietro Apostolo on the left and of Paolo di Tarso on the right, while the central section frames the entrance door, with a broken architrave between which a plaque is placed, which recalls the dedication of the church, and the curved window.
