★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nel Medio Evo Monticello fu luogo prospero e la sua chiesa beneficiò di un'insolita autonomia fiscale oltre che del privilegio di battezzare pur non essendo pieve. Alla metà del 1500 questa chiesa romanica era però in rovina ed in procinto di essere sostituita dall'attuale che le fu costruita accanto.
Sul piano artistico il suo maggior pregio è il dipinto dell'Assunta appeso in controfacciata ed attribuito alla scuola dei Procaccini.
In the Middle Ages Monticello was a prosperous place and its church benefited from an unusual fiscal autonomy as well as the privilege of baptizing even though it was not a parish church. In the mid-1500s, however, this Romanesque church was in ruins and in the process of being replaced by the current one that was built next to it.
On the artistic level, its greatest value is the painting of the Assumption hanging on the counter-façade and attributed to the Procaccini school.
