★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Parrocchia di Pove del Grappa è dedicata a San Vigilio ed egli è il santo patrono del paese.
L' omonima chiesa parrocchiale, un tempo di dimensioni molto più ridotte, è stata ampliata e ristrutturata, così come la si può vedere oggi, nei primi decenni del 1800. Tra il 1845 e il 1848 l'artista bellunese Giovanni De Min (o Demin) ha provveduto alla decorazione degli interni con il grande affresco del soffitto intitolato "La Creazione dell'uomo, il Natale divino, il supremo Giudizio". Suoi anche gli affreschi dell'altare maggiore: La glorificazione di San Vigilio, i Quattro Evangelisti, Gesù nell'orto degli ulivi e La deposizione dalla Croce.
L' opera più importante è però la grande Pala di San Vigilio, dipinta su tela nel 1536 da Jacopo da Ponte, detto il Bassano, posta sopra l'altar maggiore che rappresenta San Vigilio con S. Giovanni Battista e S. Girolamo separati da un albero di pioppo.
Ragguardevoli anche gli altari, opera straordinaria dei rinomati scalpellini povesi, uno dedicato a Sant' Antonio da Padova, l'altro alla Madonna del Rosario.
Nel 1730 fu eretto un altare nella cui nicchia si trova l'amatissimo e veneratissimo Divin Crocifisso, un crocifisso ligneo di autore ignoto, scolpito da un pellegrino di passaggio per Pove.
Il miracoloso Divin Crocofisso viene festeggiato ogni cinque anni nelle prime due domeniche di settembre con solenni Processioni in costume, Quadri Biblici e una sacra Rappresentazione della Passione.
The Parish of Pove del Grappa is dedicated to San Vigilio and he is the patron saint of the town.
The parish church of the same name, once much smaller, was enlarged and restructured, as can be seen today, in the early decades of the 1800s. Between 1845 and 1848 the Belluno artist Giovanni De Min (or Demin ) provided the interior decoration with the large ceiling fresco entitled "The Creation of Man, the Divine Christmas, the Supreme Judgment". Its also the frescoes of the high altar: The glorification of San Vigilio, the Four Evangelists, Jesus in the Garden of Olives and The Deposition from the Cross.
The most important work, however, is the great San Vigilio altarpiece, painted on canvas in 1536 by Jacopo da Ponte, called Bassano, placed above the main altar which represents San Vigilio with S. Giovanni Battista and S. Girolamo separated by a poplar tree.
The altars are also noteworthy, an extraordinary work of the renowned poor stonemasons, one dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, the other to the Madonna del Rosario.
In 1730 an altar was erected in the niche of which is the beloved and venerated Divin Crocifisso, a wooden crucifix by an unknown author, sculpted by a pilgrim passing through Pove.
The miraculous Divin Crocofisso is celebrated every five years in the first two Sundays of September with solemn processions in costume, Biblical Pictures and a sacred Representation of the Passion.
