È del 200, ma presenta vari stili architettonici; curioso è il soffitto a "carena di nave", costruito con la tecnica delle costruzioni navali. La facciata è molto semplice e l'ingresso principale, su un piccolo campiello, poco visibile. Contiene, soprattutto nelle sacrestie, dipinti e affreschi di artisti importanti, tra cui Paolo Veronese, Andrea Schiavone, Francesco da Ponte, ecc. Molto largo e frequentato dai veneziani, grandi e piccoli, è l'omonimo campo che le gira intorno, ombreggiato da alti platani, con panchine e, perfino, un orto cittadino. Vi si possono trovare tipiche osterie, ristoranti e pizzerie. A fine giugno, per la festa del patrono, vengono organizzate nel campo varie iniziative, soprattutto musicali. The Church of S. Giacomo dell'Orio is one of the oldest and most beautiful in Venice. It dates back to the 200s, but has various architectural styles; curious is the "ship hull" ceiling, built with the technique of shipbuilding. The facade is very simple and the main entrance, on a small campiello, is not very visible. It contains, especially in the sacristies, paintings and frescoes by important artists, including Paolo Veronese, Andrea Schiavone, Francesco da Ponte, etc. Very large and frequented by Venetians, large and small, is the homonymous campo that runs around it, shaded by tall plane trees, with benches and even a city vegetable garden. Sicuramente da visitare anche per la vita che creano gli abitanti locali. Veramente interessante la chiesa di San Giacomo e molto belli i platani. Un luogo sicuramente da consigliare. It is one of the most beautiful courses in all of Venice. It is located halfway between Rialto and Santa Lucia. Definitely worth a visit for the life that the local inhabitants create. Innen sieht sie auch interessant, aber nicht überladen und aufdringlich aus. The church impresses with its beautiful location. Nevertheless, it seems almost as if it has been adapted to the space and radiates calm. Inside, she also looks interesting, but not overloaded and obtrusive.

Weihrauch und unzählige interessante Kunstschätzchen und Devotionalien. Abseits der Touristenrouten ein Geheimtipp!!! delightful gem of an everyday church in parish ministry. Tourists not allowed during daily services. One should respect that. Frankincense and countless interesting art treasures and memorabilia. A secret tip away from the tourist routes!!!
